About the Artist:
Dennis Mathewson resides and paints in Honolulu, Hawaii. Travelling a lot as a boy, he also lived in Michigan, Nevada and Florida before he relocated to Hawaii in 1982 where he lives and remains till this day. He was a professional artist from an early age since 1974. A skilled pioneer in the airbrush art world since 1973 as he began his artist journey airbrushing t-shirts, cars, truck and commercial sign work. Evolving into the motorcycle mania days with custom painting over thousands of bikes where he and his staff of artists worked at the busy Cosmic Airbrush studio in Honolulu painting multiple commercial projects seen throughout the islands of Hawaii and the mainland. A master painter once considered one of the worlds “Top Guns” in the painting industry. Mathewson also a gifted speaker and instructor he has traveled the world teaching and sharing his craft with other artists and craftsman. As a skilled teacher and writer Mathewson and his work have been featured in numerous art industry trade magazine as well as his work in many hot rod and motorcycle magazines.
His fine art on metal exploded on the Hawaii gallery scene in 1999 where he now dedicates most of his time to his craft painting and creating. He has grown to become one of the top selling and successful fine artist in Hawaii. His fine artwork originals and published prints can be viewed in numerous art galleries In Hawaii and the mainland.
